Interests and Capabilities
Pedagogical sound classrooms provide transparency with assignments and grading. Using the TiLT format, establishing departmental and cross departmental criteria sets students up for knowing the required expectations setting the stage for success!
The TiLT format:
The steps that a student needs to complete and the order they are to be completed in to meet the evaluation criteria set forth in the rubric that align with real-life application.
Clearly define each task students need to complete, how much each task is worth and when it is due provides a clear path to success, transparency, and positive relationships.
Provide students with a correct, clear, and effective communication of every assignment rubric with transparent grading, clearly defined expectations, goals and outcomes on all of their assignments. A well-defined rubric helps builds rapport through transparency and understanding.
Students need to be able to apply what they are learning to their individual lives. Students need to not only be given autonomy but empowerment to make a difference through their coursework.
